Globus et Locus realizes researches and projects in order to come abreast of glocal stakeholders.

In  order  to  confront  the  challenges  of  glocalisation,  with  its  effects  more  evident today  than  they  have  ever  been,  an  updated  political  culture  is  required  that incorporates  the  more  recent  data  and  deliberations  on  globalisation,  trans-nationalism and glocalism.  In  recent  years, Globus et Locus has consolidated this role as a “catalyst”.

It has done this specifically by contributing to the preparation of training  models  for  managers  and  executives  by:

  • collecting  and  producing  material for analyses in view of the debate in progress on these issues;
  • carrying out research and  establishing  links  between  different  places  (Italian  and  foreign  universities, foundations, research centres, etc.) that have elaborated on the issues of glocal;
  • and implementing projects and ad hoc research on the subjects that glocal has brought to light  in  the  life  of  member  institutions.

Among the projects developed according to these objectives, we find RISC Lab (2006-2008), a collaborative initiative between Globus et Locus and Milan's Università Cattolica, supported by the Milano Chamber of Commerce.

Training project for managers and executives in the Chambers of Commerce

(2011-2012)

In the spring of 2011, Globus et Locus and Unioncamere developed a framework agreement aimed at achieving the following objectives: starting up a series of systematic and constructive dialogues on the role of Chambers of Commerce and their system, in building a federal type structure and a European administration for small and medium-sized businesses (smb); circulating and on a regular basis, openly discussing the results of these dialogues with the main Chairpersons and General Secretaries of the Chambers of Commerce and regional Unions; designing an implementing an “Academy for Directors” directed at managers and executives of the Chamber of Commerce system.

The project that will be jointly implemented relates to information services and high-level training, aimed at the Chairpersons and Secretary Generals of the Chambers of Commerce.

Glocalism Journal: an online medium for reflection and practice on the glocal

(2013 - 2020)

The need for in-depth studies into glocalism are being recognised from several quarters, as increasingly complicated problems emerge in today's world associated with glocalisation processes. Since its inception in the nineties, Globus et Locus has been at the forefront of research and glocal practises. Today, it feels compelled to act as a locus serving those that intend developing systematic thinking around these issues in a scientific context, where cultural contributions and insights into the glocalisation phenomena can come together and be encouraged.

The objective of this journal, “Glocalism. Journal of culture, politics and innovation” is to stimulate increasing awareness and knowledge around the new dynamics that characterise the glocal reality.

In our opinion, a journal on glocalism that corresponds with the very concept of being glocal and wants to be recognised in a cultural-academic context can only be available on-line. This refers to the ease with which it can be consulted and used by a potentially broad base of users on a global scale, the simplified editorial management, and not least, for the possibility it affords to generate debate and discussion far more easily on the questions that will be dealt with from time to time.
