Glocalization and Expo 2015: Laboratorio Expo meets journal “Glocalism”

On 6th  November, a public conference promoted by Globus et Locus and Fondazione Feltrinelli– Laboratorio Expo, with Roland Robertson as a keynote speaker, took place in Milan. During the conference has been presented the Issue 2014-1-2 of Glocalism, “Feeding the Planet. Energy for life”.

The following day, Ronald Robertson held an intersting lecture titled: "Beyond the Discourse of Globalization". The event has been hosted by  the University of Milan.

ROLAND ROBERTSON  is one of the pioneers on the global level in the globalization studies field. Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh, USA and Emeritus Professor of Sociology and Global Society at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He also holds the positions of Distinguished Guest Professor of Cultural Studies at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China and a visiting position in Tourist Studies in Sardinia. His published books include The Sociological Interpretation of Religion; Meaning and Change; International Systems and the Modernization of Societies; Globalization: Social Theory and Global Culture; European Cosmopolitanism in Question; and Globalization and Football. Forthcoming books include European Glocalization in Global Context; and Global Culture: Connectivity and Consciousness. He has published numerous chapters and articles in the fields of social theory, culture, religion, and globality and his works have been translated into more than twenty languages. Moreover, he is one of the members of the Direction Committee of Glocalism.
